Drogheda United face Bohemians at Sullivan & Lambe Park on Friday evening

Thursday 22nd May 2025, 12:20 pm

The Boynesiders come into this game following back to back draws against Derry City and Shelbourne last weekend.

Following a 1-1 draw at home to Derry on Friday, Kevin Doherty’s side travelled to Tolka Park to face Shelbourne on Monday.

Shelbourne went closest to opening the scoring in the first half through two chances from Harry Wood.

Drogheda had the better of the chances in the second half, with Douglas James-Taylor and Thomas Oluwa both seeing efforts saved by Lorcan Healy.

In team news, Josh Thomas and Paul Doyle are both ruled out through injury while James Bolger is doubtful after missing Monday’s game against Shelbourne.

These sides have played each other once this season, at Dalymount Park in March. Thomas Oluwa scored the only goal of the game as Drogheda won 1-0.

Defender Conor Kane was pleased at the performance level over the two games last week

“I thought we played really well over the two games against two very good sides. I think we were unlucky not to win both games but the main thing was to get back to performing to levels we know we can play at.

“It’s really enjoyable when the games come thick and fast, especially when results and performances are going well. We are a fit team, so we are well able to manage the amount of games in a short space of time.

“Bohemians have had some good results recently so they’ll be coming into the game on Friday full of confidence. We know the threats they have but we’ll have to impose ourselves on the game as well,” Kane said.
