New Section 5 Planning Application submitted for  IPAS Centre in former HSE building at Headfort Place, Kells

A new New Section 5 Planning Application has been submitted by Star Strand Limited ,  for a proposed IPAS Centre in the former HSE building at Headfort Place, Kells Co. Meath.


The new application comes after two Section 5 applications had been refused twice by the Planning Department of Meath County Council  for a possible IPAS Centre in Unit 7, Kells Business Park.


Conformation of the new section 5 application for the proposed IPAS Centre in former HSE building at Headfort Place, Kells was confirmed this morning by  a Statement 

 from the Kells Municipal District Councillors.


The statement said the following :


"The Councillors of Kells Municipal District wish to provide an update and clarification regarding recent Section 5 IPAS (International Protection Accommodation Services) applications within the district.

We can confirm that the Section 5 application submitted in respect of Unit 7, Kells Business Park, has been refused twice by the Planning Department of Meath County Council.


"A new Section 5 application has been submitted by Star Strand Limited for the former HSE building at Headfort Place, Kells. This application is currently under consideration by the Planning Department.


"As part of the ongoing assessment of the application submitted by Transboil Ltd, Meath County Council has requested further information in relation to the company’s proposal to convert a former hotel on Coogan Street, Oldcastle, into an IPAS centre.


"The live Section 5 applications will continue to be processed in line with planning legislation and guidelines".
