Johnny Guirke TD Appointed Spokesperson for Workers' Rights by Mary Lou McDonald

Sinn Féin TD Johnny Guirke has been appointed by party leader Mary Lou McDonald as the new spokesperson for Workers' Rights, reinforcing the party's commitment to standing up for workers across Ireland.

Deputy Guirke has always been passionate about workers’ rights. During the recent election, he made a firm pledge to prioritize collective bargaining and ensure fair treatment for all workers. This new role is a natural extension of his dedication.

Notably, when Tara Mines went through closure, Johnny was right there with the workers, actively engaging with unions and voicing their concerns in the Dáil. His commitment to advocating for those affected showed his determination to support workers during tough times.

"I’m honoured to take on this role," said Deputy Guirke. "Collective bargaining is essential for giving workers a voice, and I’m eager to work alongside unions and workers to tackle the challenges they face. Everyone deserves to be treated fairly and with respect in the workplace."
