Man is arrested in relation to inappropriate conduct incident in Dundalk, as protest is held in the town following the incident

A man in his 20’s has been arrested in relation to inappropriate conduct incident at Park Street, Dundalk, Co. Louth at approximately 4:15pm on Wednesday, 5th February 2025.

An Garda Síochána gave the following statement to Boyne News :

“Gardaí in Co Louth are investigating all of the circumstances relating to an allegation of inappropriate conduct at Park Street, Dundalk, at approximately 4:15pm on Wednesday, 5th February, 2025.

“A man (aged in his 20s) was arrested today and is being detained in a station in the Louth/Cavan/Monaghan Division under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

Following the incident tensions in the town remain high and last night Thursday 6^th February, a protest was held outside the Dundalk Garda station in relation to the inappropriate conduct incident at Park Street.
