Slane bypass approval - Peter whelan

The Aontú representative for the slane area Peter Whelan welcomes the much awaited slane bypass.
In a statement today mister Whelan said :
“I welcome this decision for many reasons. .Slane village has put up with heavy goods vehicles and excessive traffic coming through our heritage village for long enough.
While I accept some heavy goods vehicles need to access local businesses, I hope this bypass will alleviate most of the congestion problem. However , there are a few things still need to be dealt with .
One major reason for heavy goods vehicles coming through slane village is the avoidance of the m1 tolls . Another problem is the traffic travelling from east to west from Drogheda to navan . “
Aontú’s Peter whelan goes on to say
“ planning permission is one thing , but actually building the bypass needs to happen immediately. Our party will hold this government to account and keep the pressure on them to now deliver this long awaited project. “
